The PlimothEven though The Plimoth recently opened November 2013, it has received loud accolade from food enthusiasts of Denver, including impressing Denver Westword.  Chef Peter Ryan, formerly of Z Cuisine and instructor at the Cook Street School of Culinary Arts, is the brains behind Plimoth’s neighborhood eatery theme of homemade, local French and Italian cuisine.

The Plimoth boasts an ever changing menu, as it focuses on seasonal local ingredients.  There are classic notes of French and Italian cuisine on the menu with a unique modern spin.  The menu items are carefully put together to give a dish that will leave you incredibly satisfied.  Examples from the men include:

-Caramelized onion and heirloom bean soup, bacon lardon, crème fraîche, fines herbes

-Cold water mussels, spicy fennel sausage, vino blanco & anise leek broth, grilled baguette

-Vadouvan red lentils & sweet potato ragout, carrot coulis, torn cilantro, yogurt, charred rapini

-Cracklin’ chicken, shrimp etouffeé, laurel scented basmati, freshies

The Plimoth is located off the beaten path in Denver, in the North City Park neighborhood.  Make sure you make reservations for The Plimoth, as seating is limited to 40 and can fill fast.

The Plimoth is located at 2335 E. 28th Ave, DENVER, CO 80205.

The Plimoth is open Tuesday-Thursday 4pm-9pm, Friday and Saturday 4pm-10pm; closed Sunday and Monday.

Where to Drink this Week: Tea Bar by Teatulia

March 18th, 2014 Posted by Culinary Connectors, Denver, Uncategorized, Where To Drink This Week No Comment yet

Tea BTea Bar by Teatuliaar is not your average ho-hum tea shop.  Tea Bar features the high end Teatulia brand of teas.  Teatulia is unique because the tea leaves come straight  from an organic farm in Bangladesh that produces just tea leaves.  You can taste the purity and distinct flavors of Teatulia that set them apart from other tea brands.

Teatulia has won many taste awards for their tea.  The best seller is the lemongrass flavor, and this is definitely one flavor I would recommend to anyone, tea lover or not.  The flavor is very fresh, refreshing and light.  Besides tea, Tea Bar also has coffee drinks and tea sodas.  The tea sodas contain tea, fruit purees, herbs and sparkling water.  They are very light, not too sweet and delicious; perfect for cooling off on a warm day.  Try the “Whoa Mama” a blend of raspberry leaf infusion, lime, mint leaves and Izze fruit soda.

Tea bar by teatuliaTea Bar by Teatulia is located in the same building as the Green Garage, a mechanic shop on 29th ave. and zuni.  Stop by this week to experience Teatulia teas; it’s worth it!  An inside look into Tea Bar by Teatulia is also part of Culinary Connectors walking tour in the highlands neighborhood.  For more information, watch the vimeo video on Tea Bar.

Tea Bar by Teatulia is located at 2900 Zuni St. Denver CO 80211.
